What is CMS and what does it do?

Environmental Permit Compliance

CMS builds environmental compliance through an integrated system designed to ensure quality and efficiency operations, doing away with the difficulties of harmonising environmental compliance with commercial priorities, As a systems approach to compliance it can help reduce your insurance risk.

Custom Built System

CMS is a bespoke system, designed to meet the requirements of a site's environmental permit.  It can be incorporated into current integrated systems (ISO 9001 and 14001) and will reflect established good practice.  Any site that is permitted, no matter the size, can have CMS.

Increases Awareness

CMS builds awareness of the environmental permit across your team and empowers staff to comply with its requirements.  It gives staff across permitted sites the skills to identify and respond to emergency situations quickly and competently , minimising the impact of any incidents.

Creates Flexibility

CMS ensures all relevant staff are trained in environmental permit compliance, therefore enabling greater flexibility with staff rotas.  No individual staff member is reliant upon to meet permit requirements.  All staff working within permit controlled positions, will be trained in meeting its conditions.

How the CMS process works...

Our CMS experts will look at the requirements of your site's Environmental Permit and complete a gap analysis on your existing systems. This way we will identify the areas where further work is needed to comply with permit requirements and meet the the CMS Standard.

A bespoke, site specific, training programme will be devised. Building on current site training programmes and adding further training where necessary to ensure permit compliance. This includes regular updates on changing legislation.

If your business already holds ISO 9001:2015 or 14001:2015 CMS is easily integrated into your existing management systems. 360 Environmental Ltd will offer consultancy support to design relevant documents suitable for your operation to record and demonstrate competency whilst ensuring the Permit requirements are met.
360 Environmental Ltd can provide ongoing support following the auditing process as required to ensure compliance is maintained, managed and documented. If changes occur on site, 360 Environmental Ltd can update the CMS to ensure your site continues to meet Permit compliance.

Benefits of CMS

Competent

CMS reduces the potential for environmental incidents by building confidence and competency within teams to deal with any environmental eventuality by using a systematic approach. Mitigation is built into your system and is auditable and verifiable. As a systems approach to compliance it can help to reduce your insurance risk.

Engaged

CMS enables you to identify training relevant for your business to comply with your permit and facilitates skills development and transfer to relevant staff. This improves engagement, expertise and career development.
Flexible

CMS means that your whole business is certified as COMPETENT meaning that the provision of technically competent cover on your sites is never going to be a compliance issue. Technical competence is owned by the operator and not the individual, meaning flexibility in resourcing.
